This year, we have even more daylily varieties from which you’ll find your favorites. These include doubles and spider forms, as well as beautiful smaller and larger blooms.

Here in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana, Zone 4 / Zone 5, our on-going goal is to grow and develop for you hardy daylily varieties.

Three years ago, Ken started a daylily hybridizing program with a basic idea: breeding for plants which will consistently send up a second scape per fan without the rest period after the first scape has bloomed.  This is referred to as “instant rebloom”. Ken now has four Tetraploid plants from Richard Norris’ introductions, and they are the backbone of his program. Our seedlings have been exciting to watch, and the 2008 seed crop is our largest yet.

Our gardens are about 2 hours south of Glacier Park, where we often have a week of 100 degree weather in summer, and winter can get down to +10 degrees for awhile, with some years being as low as -10. Our normal frost-free growing season is 90 days. Suffice it to say that instant rebloom plants are wonderful for northern climates.
